New Family Joining the HinghamLink Team

HinghamLink recently celebrated its one year anniversary, and we're delighted to welcome a new husband & wife team who are joining our efforts: Jeff and Lindsay Harrington. Jeff and Lindsay moved to Hingham from Boston in 2019 and have two young boys, Callen (age 2 1/2) and Carson (age 11 months).

Jeff and Lindsay are particularly interested in helping Hingham’s seniors, so they’re going to be coordinating the HinghamLink Trash program, which started in March 2020. You can read our original announcement here.

The program is simple: people who need help getting their trash to the Transfer Station sign up here, and people who want to volunteer sign up here. Then we match the recipients with the volunteers, and connect them. This is usually an ongoing service, where the recipient works out with the volunteer how often they need help.

Our goal is to help senior citizens and people with disabilities continue to live independently in their own homes, and give them a little boost where they need it.

Jeff and Lindsay together bring a lot of new energy to this program, and have already shared some great ideas about how to better get the word out to people who need help.

As a reminder, HinghamLink offers assistance with things like:

>> Snow Shoveling: recipient / volunteer
>> Leaf Raking: recipient / volunteer
>> Trash Pick-up: recipient / volunteer
>> General Help: recipient / volunteer
>> Friendly Phone Calls: recipient / volunteer
